Educator Training

The “Training of Trainers” program held at Lokman Hekim University VITAL Simulation Center aims to equip healthcare professionals with simulation-based training techniques. This training enables participants to learn the effective use of simulators and develop scenario-based training approaches. The training covers topics such as the use of high-tech simulators, their technical maintenance, and their integration into teaching processes in detail. In addition, participants are provided with practical information on scenario design, development, and implementation.

In scenario-based simulated and standardized patient training, the goal is for participants to develop their communication skills, clinical decision-making competencies, and emergency management skills. During the training, participants work on scenarios that simulate realistic clinical environments, preparing them for various situations they may encounter in healthcare services. Standardized patient training focuses on developing empathy and professional communication skills by optimizing patient-student interaction. The training also comprehensively covers important pedagogical topics such as feedback techniques and performance evaluation methods.

In addition, practical exercises are conducted alongside the theoretical knowledge necessary for planning, executing, and evaluating simulation-based training. Participants are guided on how to manage simulation sessions and how to use technology more efficiently in education. The training is supported by interactive presentations, group work, case studies, and hands-on practice. Thus, participants acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to organize similar training in their own educational environments. The Training of Trainers program is organized to improve the quality of health education and to ensure that professionals can effectively use simulation-based teaching approaches.

VITAL held its first “Training of Trainers” program on May 25-26, 2024.
